Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- On November 9th the annual Carrier Classic is expected to be played aboard the USS Yorktown in Charleston harbor, The Post And Courier reports.

This will be the second year for the men's college basketball event, with last year's tournament generating huge buzz, and attended by the President and First Lady.

In a call to Thomas Lee, one of the founding directors of the Morale Entertainment Foundation, he says that this year there will be a double-header played on the flight deck.

The first will be an afternoon NCAA Women's matchup, with commitments from Ohio State and Notre Dame, followed by an evening game between the Connecticut Huskies, and a yet to be determined opponent. The U-Conn opponent will be finalized and announced following the NCAA Tournaments.

Although the final contracts and details have not yet been signed off by all parties, Lee says the Foundation is confident everything will be finalized and complete within a few weeks.

Last year's game, between North Carolina and Michigan State, played aboard the U.S. Carl Vinson in San Diego, had more than 8000 seats. Due to the size of the Yorktown's flight deck, the seating capacity is anticipated to be half that.
