Chef Gordon Ramsay Finds "Kitchen Nightmare" in Ventura on Astini News
VENTURA - If you love the anger and passion of Chef Gordon Ramsay, you'll be excited to know he's shooting Kitchen Nightmares in Ventura.
And, Your Central Coast News was invited into the thick of things at The Greek at The Harbor.
A restaurant kitchen is going to be hectic, of course.
But when Chef Gordon Ramsay gets on scene, the heat intensifies.
"They lost their way and things got to the extent where they're sort of almost reheating food and trying to get away with it," Chef Ramsay told us on Monday night.
That's the night The Greek reopened for a select few patrons to try the new look and new menu provided by Chef Ramsay and his Kitchen Nightmares crew.
Once you get to know him, it's apparent that beneath the coarse language and furrowed brow... lies a nice guy who just wants to help a nice family restaurant succeed.
"Look at this place. It's beautiful. You got the harbor on that side and this side you've got the beach," he gushed.
The Ventura Harbor may be heaven to Chef Ramsay, but The Greek's owner says it's Gordon who came from above.
"I have Chef Ramsey here. It feels like someone came from paradise," said owner, Makis Mikelatos.
This episode of Kitchen Nightmares will air in the Fall.
