Zimbabwe militants call for restaurants boycott on Astini News

State radio says a militant youth group loyal to the president is calling for a boycott of a restaurant chain whose latest advertising depicts Zimbabwe's leader as "the last dictator standing."

The radio quoted on Tuesday Jimu Kunaka, head of group known as Chipangano, demanding the Nando's food chain of South Africa withdraw the advertising and apologize or face punitive action. Chipangano is a brotherhood of President Robert Mugabe's loyalists.

The head of the food chain's Zimbabwe franchise says it was not informed of the South African television and press campaign, and is independent of them.

In the commercial, Mugabe is shown dining alone on the food chain's spicy chicken at Christmas with vacant places at his table for Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi and other deposed dictators.
