Precision Dynamics Introduces New QR Code Wristbands - Business - Press Releases on Astini News

& & Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a leader in identification solutions, announces the launch of new QR Code Wristbands to its VIP® Band product line. QR Code Wristbands allow venues and events to connect with their guests in new and exciting ways using QR (Quick Response) Code technology. The QR Code Wristbands feature a QR code printed on them that can be scanned by patrons with Smart Phones that have a QR Code reader application installed. When scanned, the QR code triggers a predetermined action, such as going to a website, creating a contact, composing a text message, or calling a phone number. &

With hundreds or thousands of their guests wearing wristbands, managers of venues and events can use QR codes for marketing and promotion and to increase customer interaction and retention. "The point is to engage consumers by giving them something they want, whether it's timely information related to the event they're attending, discounted admission for their next visit, downloadable media, etc.," said Edwin Baljeu, Sales and Marketing Manager for PDC. "Why not take your biggest fans and incentivize them with a special offer tied to your QR code and website to share their experience with their social network on Facebook or Twitter. Venues and events are already applying wristbands to their guests, but now they can use those wristbands as tools of engagement. It's another medium for marketing, plus it's easy to track and report responses."

QR Code Wristbands feature full-color printing on the SureImage® style of wristbands, which allows venues to promote their branding and messaging in vibrant color, while also providing a working QR Code for consumers to scan. QR Code Wristbands are non-transferable and available with adhesive closures or locking snap closures to prevent transfer from one guest to another. They are sold in boxes of 500 (snap closure) or 1000 (adhesive closure) with minimum orders for customization ranging from 2,500 wristbands to 5,000 wristbands.

Using Quick Response (QR) Codes for marketing has become a growing trend in 2011 and consumer awareness and adoption of QR codes continues to increase. A recent study on mobile QR and bar code scanning by comScore, Inc. cited that 14 million U.S. mobile users in June 2011 scanned a QR or bar code on their mobile device. The figure represents 6.2% of total mobile users. Venues and events can capitalize on this trend and incorporate QR Codes into their access control wristband program to propel their branding and engage guests online and via social networking sites.
